You know that country song "What were we thinking?" Well that's what I think of when I think of our experience at the fair this year. Myself and Robyn wanted to take her kids and the twins to the fair this passed monday. Strike #1...Memorial Day & last day of the fair. Greg is in UT with Hunter and Austin and Kent wants to go 4-wheeling with our neighbor, who's wife is also out of town. Strike #2...no spouses, and three extra kids. So between Robyn and myself we had 8 kids under the age of 6!!! Strike #3...two stroller+a million people+fair=disaster!!
When we left our homes it was cloudy, even raining. By the time we made it through the fair traffic it was beautiful and actually hot out. But we dressed for it to be cold, so we were dying and trying to find shade every second. We saw all the animals and then we bribed the kids into buying a toy instead of riding rides because it was too crazy. After one child's major break down we knew it was time to go. Then we left. But not without first trying the most yummiest cream puffs ever...and they were huge! Fun times.

Melinda with almost all the kids we brought...missing baby Paxson

Robyn with almost all the kids, again...missing baby Paxson

Ryder, Peyton and Mason helping Robyn box up her house. They've sold their house, moved in with us until their new house is finished. It's been lot's of fun!

Kaiden, Mason, Abbi, Ryder, Peyton all watching something interesting. You can see that Ryder wants to smile for the picture, but doesn't want to stop watching the show.
Also, if anybody knows any secrets of keeping soap scum off of your glass shower door...please clue me in! I hate having glass doors on my shower!!! Is there any special miracle cleaning agent that gets the crap off, besides lime-a-way?

you guys are nuts! I hate crowds+kids+strollers=ahhhhhhh!!!!!
Try tilex soap scum remover. We always use it and we use the tilex mold and mildew for the nasty stuff that shouldn't be there in the first place if you cleaned your shower often enough, but who does that? We have glass doors and I think it works pretty good--beware though, it's strong stuff. The mildew one disolves the black stuff within 5 minutes--no scrubbing!
So - my step-mom uses a squeegie(?). I have no idea how to spell that. Anyway, her doors always look beautiful but everyone has to squeegie down the door every single time they shower. It only takes about 10 seconds and they're always clean. I've seen them for showers at Home Depot :)
You two are crazy! That's why I love you. ;) My mom also uses a squeegie. You can buy them cheap by the mops and brooms at the store. It's kind of a pain, but it helps to do a "wipe down" after each shower.
That sounds like torture!
I use Arm and Hammer or Tilex Clean Shower. Whichever one is on sale. Its the stuff you spray on after each shower to keep a clean shower clean. So once you get it off, I would recommend that. It really helps. Its the lazy version of using the squeegie every time. My grandma does that it hers look amazing, but I just don't have time to do that every time I shower and I would never talk Sam in to it! :)
On another note, did I add you to our blog when I went private? If not, email me your address at: nattoe@hotmail.com.
And didn't you guys build a new house this year? I don't think I have seen pictures of it. You need to post some, or let me know, and I can go through the archives if I just missed them!
Oh, and we are meeting lots of people here in Katy that lived in Alaska a few years with Conocophillips. Wonder if you knew any of them.
That will be a fair to remember. (ha, ha). At least you got out and did it. Love the pic of the kiddos on the bed. Oh, and I vote squeegie as well. We had glass doors growing up. Have a racey comment, but I'll save that for another time. =)
Whoa, you are brave to go out anywhere with that many kids let alone the fair! I'm glad you survived.
I'm a huge fan of Kaboom for cleaning bathroom stuff.
I hate huge crowds. We just moved down to Austin TX and took the kids to Schlitterbaun waterpark, it was NUTS! ugh! When I had a glass shower I used KABOOM. Its in a purple bottle, it worked really well.
My whole shower is glass and is large. I use a squeegie as well after each shower and once a month use Kaboom. It is not a harsh chemical and works really well. You might need to always shower just after Greg if he won't squeegie!
Yikes. I think I would have had a mental break down! I have a hard enough time with two children in large crowds... Eight would have been insane. But good for you guys for going out and doing something fun! Love all of the photos of the kiddos. Super cute!
