Heaven!

So we are in heaven here in Alaska! The kids have been off school for two days now because it has been 45 degrees! Do you wonder why the kids have school off? Well, we had tons of snow last month, then last week we were in the -20's, this week our degrees climbed up to 45 which makes it a 65 degree difference! Awesome, huh? The only thing not awesome about it is now the roads are ice, I can't even get into my garage because it's so slick. I did venture out today and picked up some friends for the boys. It's kinda funny, most kids get off school for too much snow. Not in Alaska! You get off school if the snow melts too fast! Gotta love it!

This is how the kids celebrate no school. Austin, Carter Russell, Hunter, Hunter Russell. Thank goodness for X-box...even the babies think they can play. We let them have a remote with no battery.

This picture was taken about two weeks ago. It's on my deck and we had tons of snow.

This is the same table on my deck today. The snow is melting fast.

This is my beautiful picture of Jesus that Greg got me for Christmas.

Okay, okay, I did it. I stalked you out and found your blog. I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't ask permission, but I just wanted to see! I'm glad you're finding fun ways to keep busy during this crazy weather. Seriously, only in Alaska! Oh, and GORGEOUS picture!

It is like a tropical wind! I think I need to go for a walk and enjoy not being cold! I thought 20 was good two days ago, but 45 is even better! :) It is so funny that there is no school when it is so warm!

That snow is so crazy! What a fun day for the boys. I love those pictures of your mom I think you and Lisa look exactly like her! Mostly you though. She is so pretty. I can't believe she is 60! That use to seem so old, but not so much anymore(especially as I get older) :)

I thought of you today when I saw on the news that Anchorage had the same temp at Daytona Beach Florida - they were comparing it on the Today Show. I love it. Looks like you are making the most of it.

You pix of Chirst is beautiful.

We have been having much of the same weather, but not quite as much snow. Today, Avery asked if it was warm enough for her swimsuit! Not quite honey, there's still snow outside! Your boys are so handsome and growing so quickly. The twins look as though they are resembling Hunter and Austin a little more as they grow. And you and Greg always look great. Glad you had a great holiday!

That is nuts that it is colder in the midwest than in AK--I'm so glad you guys get a break!

That is so drastic! Sounds like Utah weather. One day it's 80 degrees. The next, it's 30. That is fun for your kids though. I had no idea that they would close school for snow melting too fast! So funny!

I didn't know you guys are in Alaska. What an adventure! How long have you been there?

And with the game remotes, I do the same thing with my toddler...give him a dead game remote so he feels like he's part of the action. Works like a charm! Some day he'll figure it out, but until then I get a few minutes without him hanging on my leg or getting into mischief.

Ok how funny is that?! At first I thought you made a mistake and didnt put the negative sign before the 45! But the snow was melting because it was that "warm"? Am I getting this right?! haha, that is crazy! My boys have today off, Aust loves school so he was sad, but he is getting over it really fast! Already running around crazy this morning! Boys are the best huh?! I LOVE it!

That is so crazy! I've actually never heard of missing school for that reason, but it makes sense for up there. I love the picnic table picture - so much snow! Thank goodness for X-Box, PS2, etc .... huh?
